There are countries we know, we know where are on the map, we go through for a holiday, but we never spent more than a couple of hours there. Slovenia was like that for me, but it changed now.

I started another adventure in Europe and Slovenia was the first country I decided to explore. First cold and snowy mountain (Julian Alps), around which I drove to Lake Bled. Allegedly one of Europe's most beautiful lakes had to be seen with her own eyes, and it was magic in the afternoon lights. In the middle of the lake is island with church. When the church bell began to bleed, my breath was concealed. In addition, there is a legend, the old bell drowns in lake, but you can still hear his sound from the depth. So which bell did I hear?

Nearby is Lake Bohijn and also worth a visit, but I went to the capital. Ljubljana, small and green town in the foothills of the Julian Alps. There was a lot of snow, but also a nice winter, which did not deter me and I went to the main dominion, Ljublanski Castle, which stands in the city center. You can get there by a very modern cable car, but it would not be me not to walk there.

The city center is only a few hours away: Prešerenovo square with a Baroque church, Trojmostí (a bridge made up of three bridges), the old town, the Dragons bridge (according to the legend lived in the places of today's dragon town), Butchers bridge, Promenade and Vodnikovo square where are very large markets. I bought a few apples and set off on my way.

I had to visit some of the caves offered by Slovenia. I chose between Postojna, Predjama and Škocjan. The choice fell on the last, the Skocjan Caves. I avoided the highway and ran around the Nanos Mountains to the National Park. Beautiful views of the countryside and a quiet journey through small villages brought me to the caves. Surprisingly, even here I did not come across the power of tourists, so in a group of about 15 , we were for 10 euros, set out to explore the underground secrets. I'm still breathing now. Not only are the caves really huge (I walked about 4 km), but through the largest cave, a wild river flows spectacularly, and I mean it really great, whose crashing is carried through the cave. I totally disarmed the view from the 45m high bridge over the river.

After 1.5 hours of amazing experience, the time has come to move to the sea. Slovenia has tiny coasts, but really beautiful. Izola, Lazaret, Piran and Portoroz are worth a visit. Even though it's only 15 ° C on the coast, the feeling of standing on the beach listening to the moaning of the sea and shedding the rays of the sun, although I was wearing a winter jacket, it just does not replace.
